But what truth is it. Just kidding. I think if you target one thing or another, one issue or another with this incredible maginifying glass you have created of your mind, we will all reap the benefit of those truths that you do find. And if to know and give voice to the truth makes you happy,motivates and fulfills you is more accurate, then you are doing the right thing, that thing you are supposed to be doing. Glad to have found this blog. I was just thinking to myself along the same lines, maybe yesterday? This post really nails what I was feeling, though of course it is not what I was thinking about. I keep telling Matt I am going to do this and this and this before such and such an age, I am going to be living my dream. And to such ends I make starts and stops and starts again. Now I just want the truth that is me to be the only thing that I express. And if no one cares, then I care and that is all that matters to me anymore. Well that and I do care that if another person has contact with me it makes their life better in some way. Yes that is vain, I know, but I do it because I can, it makes me happy and only sometimes do I seek credit for it (usually when it involves pizza or beer). I am not really that good at any thing that is that useful. I achieve limited success through humor mostly, but in fact I have to work on my delivery. Those that do not know me find me to be abrasive, and many times the sarcasm I drop is not too refined. But I am going to keep at it. I kill myself sometimes.

I read Your letter, didn’t bother to read his, totally unnecessary.

I appreciate your sentiment but believe that you vastly understate the deserved rage. The guy – and thousands just like him – don’t deserve gently reproving letters, they deserve to be pummeled in the streets by their aggrieved co-citizens.

Of course however, said citizens hardly deserve air. A man who tells me that he’s worthless makes himself so and if there’s any sentiment that I’ve been hearing out of Joe and Jane America this past century (from Wilson’s ascendancy onward – with a quickening of the pace from 1980 until a few months ago) it’s that all people are worthless but the rich ones.

These Jane and Joe Americas who heave the shovel to bury themselves demonstrate their unfitness for civilization. There are however enough of us healthy egoists around that we could – and ought to – take on the usurpers on our own. Not for the sake of the slaves who know of no other self-definition but that of “Slave”, but for the sake of ourselves and those we love.

Wake me up when the crowd has gathered.
