Religion and Particle Physics

The only thing that religion and particle physics have in common is a complex and abstract vocabulary which is far enough from our daily experience, or any kind of verifiable evidence, that it is easy for manipulative people who want to sell books to confuse people into thinking that their deeply held personal wishes and prejudices are therein confirmed.

  1. Yup. gotta point.

    Lost track the number of books using ‘esoteric’ terminology to confound people into taking things on trust – because they sound authoritative.

    So which book touched your nerve?

    Only book that came even close to a commonality of belief and physics, was Fritjof Capra’s Tao of Physics. May not have been your ‘cup of tea’.

    Still intrigued to know which book(s) ticked you off enough to post this…
